I wonder if these lands and plantations are still in the LOWE family? It would be interesting to visit these locations.

Does anyone know who Sarah Grimes was? She shares equally with the Doom children in Jacob's will, yet his own children are not even named.
On a tithe list from Nelson Co. KY he has a slave named Lucy, but I have found no connection to a Grimes family. His sister perhaps? :?:

I am not sure about the Grimes name connection. However, I seem to remember my great grand father Doom speaking about the Grimes family as though they were related. Great grand father Doom loved to tell stories of the "olden" days to me when I was around 10 or 12 - and some of his stories dated as far back as the 1700s.

Colleen,
Let's hear some of those stories that Great-Grandad told you. I think you started doing that last year, but got sidetracked. It would be fascinating to hear of the relatives from over a century ago.

Sharon,
I wrote a few stories for the Lowe family newsletter that you began a couple of years ago. I'm not sure if they all have been posted on the FenrichFamily site. As you know Don and I are moving to southern California in a couple of weeks and are very busy. After the move is complete and we get settled in I'll write a few more stories about great grandfather and great grandmother Doom. Also have some stories about their children.
If you want to learn more about our move log onto www.mygreathome.com and take a look at my e-journal.
Love,
Colleen
