These people are related to the Lowes via Phyllis Virginia Johnstone Lowe. Her mother was Adah Beatrice Boone, whose mother was Gertrude Bullock. Phyllis' grandfather, William Bernard Boone, had a photo album with about two thirds cartes d'visite (cdvs) and about one third tintypes. I added 46 images from this album in a sub-album. I am curious as to why people from this period did not smile when being photographed. Does anyone know why this is? I also think one of the photos looks like Colleen Lowe Fenrich as a young woman.
