I think it would be fun to see how many visitors to this site were affected by the blackout, and in what ways.
I personally was on vacation. My family and I were camping at Pinery, in Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada. No one was home to miss the air conditioning, we lost very little food because I always use up almost everything in the frig before leaving on vacation, and we had everything we needed while camping. We had bottled water, propane to cook with, flashlights and campfires to see with and tents with cots to sleep on. I don't think we could have been in a better place. When we needed to cool down, we were only a short distance from Lake Huron, so we went for a dip.
Let's hear about some other people's experiences.

As we are located in California, the Stoner family did not experience the blackout. I'm still wondering if my brother Donald and his family had any problems, but I have been unable to reach him.
Sharon, you and your family could not have been better prepared than on a camping trip!
I look forward to hearing other stories...

We were unaffected by the blackout here in Florida. Our son Donald and family were without power for a couple of days - but the power is back on now. Since they live in the country and experience power outage from time to time they have a BIG generator that supplies them with lots of electricity. Their freezer, frig, fans, lights, TV, etc. all ran well on the generator.
I know that my cousin Debbie was in Atlanta on business and stranded there for a couple of days because she couldn't get a flight back to Detroit.
