last visit: 23.12.02 		I have been reading postings on the Doom forum on Genealogy.com and there is a gentleman, a descendant of our Jacob Doom named Robert I. Doom, who has been doing extensive research for the past 20 years on this. He says the family legend is wrong and that we are Dutch (Jacob coming from Skiedam, Holland; not from Hamburg, Germany).
