You will recall that Matilda Emaline Carnahan is paternal great grandmother to Sharon Lowe McDonnell and Colleen Lowe Fenrich as she married James Henry Lowe and bore him a son, Ira Lowe who is our grandfather. Richard added 26 new members to the Lowe database and an interesting story that I want to pass along. James Carnahan b. 1755, d. after 1797 was Lieut. 4th Regt. Pa. Volunteers in Revolutionary War, promoted by Gen. Washington to Capt. of 7th Regt. for meritorious service-was taken prisoner at the battle of Trenton, made his escape with several others. Served until close of the War. I have seen in my research on Ancestry.com that many of the Carnahan clan who lived in Indiana in the mid-1800s served in the Civil War.

I have seen in my research on Ancestry.com that many of the Carnahan clan who lived in Indiana in the mid-1800s served in the Civil War.
