This article comes from the April 2001 edition of the Kentucky Explorer magazine. I didn't know of its existence until I read a posting by Ernest Grand on the Doom Family Genealogy Forum noting that there was a great deal of information there. Indeed there is and pictures too! Did you know that Benjamin Doom is credited with building the kitchen and living quarters of the mansion commonly known to Kentuckians as "My Old Kentucky Home?" Lots of other interesting historical facts in this article.
